This stop motion animation was made as an e-mailer to invite Bigfish Clients to visit their new location in Scottsdale, Arizona.

To meet the brief, I made a large scale, folding model that showed the map location when flat and the new building once folded.

The animation was accomplished using a machined rig that flipped a table top 90 degrees.  By moving the model instead of the camera, I didn’t have to worry about achieving a smooth, stop motion camera movement.

Although there was a lot of rig removal and other VFX touch ups, an overall process look was maintained to keep the stop motion look and feel.

The final delivery was on web and mobile.  When the recipient scrolled down, the animation played out ending at the open house details.  Fun.
