One of my teachers at Sheridan College framed the practice of drawing as a proof of a person’s ability to understand how objects occupy 3D space.  It seems simple enough but is a slight shift in thinking from how I was originally presented the process:  to “draw what you see”.  It’s a subtle difference but drawing what you see doesn’t pave a better way to understanding and representation of your ideas.  Instead it’s a process of copying rather than understanding.

I’ve always loved drawing but have neglected it in past years.  Hopefully I’ll remedy that here by posting new studies, more frequently.
